ACTIVITIES OF THE SOCIETY

"8th Prof. Dr. Faruk Nemlioğlu Advances in Dermatology Symposium" organized by Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine Department of Dermatology and Dicle University Faculty of Medicine Department of Dermatology, was held on 17th and 20th June, 2009 in Diyarbakır, Turkey. The symposium that is aimed to raise Turkish Dermatology to a modern dermatology style is the only symposium that can complete and publish its book when the conference is over. Our book has been prepared and it will be distributed in a short period of time. Furthermore all "Advances in Dermatology Symposium" books will be reached on our society web page in the near future.

Sexually transmitted diseases are some of the important diseases groups threaten the public health. The symposium was held on 1st and 4th October, 2009 in Girne, KKTC with contribution of Dermatology, Gynecology, Urology and Microbiology Departments in the assistance of our society. The aim of this symposium was to organize a harmony among different disciplines and we think we made it.

It has been decided that the journal "Dermatose" which has been published since 2002 and completed its fifth year will be the official publication organ of our society to be published starting with 2007. However some problems have occurred in the publication agency. Now required attempts are being held to distribute the journal. After the editorial board has been reorganized, reviews and acceptations will be made over the internet.
